There is one good reason why this Panasonic iron is a good buy iron. It heats up and reheats quickly. So, if you are that type who is always rushing to iron a shirt just before heading off to work, this is the steam iron for you. And if you are that type who enjoys taking a break in between ironing a pile of clothes, this is also the best iron for you simply because it reheats quickly after the auto shut-off has been triggered.
In other words, you don't have to wait what seems like forever for the iron to heat up to do its job properly. After all, you don't want to spend any more time than you should in front of the ironing board just because the steam iron is still not hot enough to get rid of all the wrinkles.
Other Considerations
Another plus about this Panasonic iron is its curved soleplate. A curved soleplate basically means that the pressure is concentrated at the center rather than the tip as is the case with most conventional irons. I'm a clumsy ironer but with the Panasonic Titanium Curved Soleplate iron, the tendency for the iron to tug and snag at the fabric is much less.
The steams are adequate to get rid of wrinkles and it glides fairly well across fabric. The retractable cord is also a great feature and if you need to keep back your iron after each use, it certainly comes in handy for easier storage rather than having to wrestle with the cord each time.
But as with most steam irons, this Panasonic model also has its flaw. I find that it is not as smooth as some other irons out there such as the T-Fal Ultraglide Diffusion steam iron although it still glides faily well across fabrics. Furthermore, there is bound to have a trade-off between smoothness and a non-stick titanium coating and the latter does have its advantages.
Price
I have seen the Panasonic Titanium Curved Solepate (NI-S300TR) iron selling for around $23 to $35 but I'm not too sure about the reputation of those retailers selling at the lower price range. If you can find it from a reputable retailer for less than $30, this is indeed a great buy iron given all the features, especially if you are looking for a non-stick soleplate, and it might even be the best iron for you.
